Our nursery in practice
01
The tunnel
In the winter months we make the young cuttings by hand and set them in the tunnel. There they root steadily throughout the winter and early spring.
Once they are strong enough, we cut them back to the right height. This encourages the grasses to tiller, so they grow on fuller and sturdier. Then they find their way to the field.

Planting
At the right moment the plants go into open ground — straight, at a fixed spacing, row by row. This gives every plant room to grow.

Irrigation
With a smart irrigation system, every crop gets exactly the water it needs. That way plants grow evenly and we use water sparingly.

Mowing
We mow where it makes the plant stronger. Cutting back at the right moment ensures full, sturdy regrowth.

Lifting
When the plants are at their best, we carefully lift them from the field — ready straight away for processing and shipping.
06
Hoeing
Between the rows we keep the field weed-free mechanically. Clean land without unnecessary chemicals — better for plant and soil.
